Blatt Aitbayev, a graduate student at the School of Advanced Engineering at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Engineering, said that the "muscle-interface" device is a human-machine interface project that captures the electric field activity of the hand muscles, recognizes gestures, and translates gestures into Instructions to the device.

Experts have been working on this project since 2015. The "Muscle-Interface" device won a prize of 2 million rubles. The funds were used to assemble a laboratory prototype that recognizes the user's eight gestures. In 2018, the project won the Sino-Russian Industrial Innovation Awards.

Not long ago, researchers assembled a new bracelet-like robot with a power module and Bluetooth, which included an inertial module – a gyroscope and an accelerometer.

Aitbayev commented: "Compared to similar products, our research and development results have the advantage of high accuracy and low device identification hysteresis, and the opportunity to utilize a fairly extensive package identification algorithm."

The developers of the device intend to use the laboratory prototype to create a control system for the upper limb bionic prosthesis and complement the virtual and supplemental realistic motion leakage trace system.
