With the implementation of the “Eastern Sangxi Migration” policy, the sericulture industry has gradually expanded from the traditional sericulture base to the central and western regions, which has greatly increased the demand for saplings in the sericulture area. With the increase of the popularity of Xiaosang Miao in Tongxiang City within and outside the province, Mulberry Miao became one of the main sources of Tongxiang farmers’ income.

According to the monitoring data provided by the city's price department and the understanding of farmers operating in mulberry seedlings, this year's Tongxiang Xiaomiao Miao's sales conditions are relatively good. At present, the purchase price of small Mulberry seedlings is generally around 0.27 yuan, which was about 0.15 yuan in the same period last year.

It is understood that this year's increase in the price of small mulberry seedlings is mainly due to the characteristics of small mulberry seedlings cultivated in Tongxiang with "high survival rate, dense foliage, high yield, and wide adaptability," plus the price of cocoon in recent years. The rising enthusiasm and the increasing enthusiasm of the silkworm mulberry sericulture intensified the demand for small mulberry seedlings, which in turn increased the purchase price.

The increase in demand has also led to an increase in the purchase price. Local saplings are mainly sold to places such as Yunnan, Shaanxi, and Shandong. Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and other places have seen a sharp increase in the demand for small mulberry seedlings under high valence. Last year, the purchase price of Yunnan Chunyu had reached 2,700 yuan, and the local silkworm farmers had a strong demand for mulberry seedlings, which also led to a situation in which the supply of mulberry seedlings fell short of demand this year.
